Hi All! As you all undoubtably know, I've had an insane week and am in the hospital. The nurses here at Kaiser have been absolutely wonderful, and have been hanging out and having tea with me in the afternoons :) Last week I was here form Monday-Thursday; this week it looks like they won't be letting me go until the baby gets here. As a result, I don't have access to much. I did however want to share these last pictures I took of the kids wonderful projects last month and some of their awesome work.
I was unable to write thank you cards for the sweet gifts I received last week, but I am so thankful! I love all the sweet little baby things! They remind me that there is a very sweet light at the end of this tunnel.
Please let your students know that I miss them and I will update once the baby is here. Baby is at 34 weeks, we are trying to keep the baby in two more weeks. So everyone should hear from me within two weeks. I look forward to visiting everyone when this is all over!
Some important upcoming dates and information
Yearbook: Order by March 29th at Treering.com
Maternity Leave: I will be headed on maternity leave around Spring Break. This gives me about 5 more weeks in the classroom. We will update you on the substitute teacher and other information as we get closer. Thank you to everyone for your amazing love and support as I welcome this newest family member!
Scholastic Order: This week’s flyers will be the last scholastic flyers to go home this year. If you would like to order the class number is #TLLLD. You’ve ordered more than $500 in books this year, resulting in 65 new books for our classroom! Thank you!

On February 25th we are scheduled to start our new literature unit: imagination. In addition to reading The Phantom Tollbooth, the children will need their own copy of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. Because they will write in book, this does need to be a print copy.
You can order this book on scholastic at: https://clubs.scholastic.com. Our class code is TLLLD and the item is Item #038382. It’s also listed under the recommendations tab. The due date for this order is Thursday Feb 14th to ensure we get it on time. The book is $8 on Scholastic.
You can find the paperback Charlie on Amazon Prime for $6.99.
Of course, you are welcome to pick up the book where ever you would like and if you already own the book, send it on in.
The book will stay at school for the duration of the unit, approximately two months. Please remember: these will be written in. Therefore, please no library books.
First off, thank you for the amazing birthday gifts! I really appreciate every single one. They are wonderful and I felt very loved!
Good evening everyone,
Unfortunately I left the school early today and will be unable to go into work tomorrow. As of now, Sister Ann will be subbing for me. A huge thank you to her! Please let your kids know I will miss them.
In class, we finished our sonnets this week and are now working on some PEST WANTED poster. Please ask your reader about their monster! Next week we will be deep diving into mummification and the pyramids with some science and STEAM projects. Stay tuned!
Please note that Monday is a minimum day. Yesterday, three flyers for home went out: parent teacher conference times, and two student body flyers. If you can't make your PT Conference time, please send me a note or email me. We can schedule a phone conference or a different conference time that works for you.
Thank you so much,
